Normalerweise machen wir an dieser Stelle nur Posts über Dinge, die mit Mode zu tun haben, aber Kopfhörer sind schließlich auch ein modisches Accessoire, oder? Die schwedische Firma Urbanears ist bekannt für seine Kopfhörer, die es in der Regebogen-Farbpalette gibt, aber der beliebte Kopfhörer namens „Plattan“ kommt momentan in einer besonderen Ausführung daher: im Qulit-Look und nur in Schwarz. Eine Geschenkidee für Musik-Afficionados und alle, die es auch beim Hörgenuss lieber ganz gemütlich haben…
Brit label Burberry won the “Superior Award”by “Musikexpress”. The award by German music magazine “Musikexpress” for best international luxury brand was awarded to British brand Burberry for its “longstanding association with music” such as the recent project “Burberry Acoustic” (see here). Dan Gillespie Sells of British band The Feeling accepted the award during the last week’s ceremony in Berlin; a song by “The Feeling” currently is the soundtrack for Burberry’s fragrance “The Body” (see video below).

Britisches Label Burberry mit dem “Superior Award“ der Zeitschrift „Musikexpress“ ausgezeichnet. Der Preis für Burberry wurde letzte Woche im Rahmen der „Musikexpress“-Zeremonie stellvertretend an den Leadsänger der Band The Feeling verliehen; „The Feeling“ hat unter anderem den Soundtrack zum Spot des Burberry-Dufts „The Body“ aufgenommen (siehe Video unten). Die Wahl Burberrys durch Jury, die aus deutschen Journalisten und Musik-Experten bestand, wurde mit dem langjährigen Engagement der Brit-Marke im Musikbereich – unter mit der „Acoustic Series“ (siehe hier) – begründet.

They’ve been the first band who hired models to perform in their video clips and it seems British band Duran Duran still likes the idea…the band’s latest song called “Girl Panic!”, shotby Jonas Åkerlundunites some of the so-called “supermodels” of the 1990s. Naomi Campbell plays Duran Duran‘s frontman Simon Le Bon, Helena Christensen is Roger Taylor, Eva Herzigova Nick Rhode’s double and Cindy Crawford performs as John Taylor and then there’s Yasmin Le Bon as herself, too. The video was shot at the Savoy Hotel in London and features clothing by Dolce & Gabbana. Altogether certainly a very fashionable shoot but thank god it’s Duran Duran’s real characters who sing and play the song… the song might not be available in some countries but check Greektube to watch it (click here or click the image above).

Naomi, Cindy, Eva & Co in Duran Durans neuem Video.Duran Duran war die erste Band, die Models für ihre Video-Clips buchte und es scheint, als ob den britischen Musiker, die Idee immer noch gefällt. Der jüngste Song der Truppe „Girl Panik!“, vereint mal eben einige der sogenannten „Supermodels“ der Neunzigerjahre. Naomi Campbell spielt in dem Clip Frontman Simon Le Bon, Helena Christensen verkörpert Roger Taylor, Eva Herzigova durfte Nick Rhode doubeln und Cindy Crawford agiert als John Taylor. Und dann ist da noch Yasmin Le Bon als sie selbst. Der Clip wurde von Jonas Åkerlund inszeniert und im Londoner Savoy Hotel gedreht. Die Mode stammt aus dem Hause Dolce & Gabbana – alles in allem also ein sehr modischer Clip. Nur gut, dass die Models nicht wirklich singen und Musik machen, sondern das immerhin noch die Herren von Duran Duran übernehmen. Der Clip ist in Deutschland über die üblichen Kanäle nicht mehr zu sehen, aber auf Greektube, kann man sich das Ganze ansehen (hier klicken oder direkt ins Bild oben).
Design market in Berlin. It’s Voodoo Market time once again – but don’t be scared, the event sounds quite pleasant. Berlin-based creatives will be bringing their handmade design products, alongside tattoo artists, hair stylists (Poppy Pantone from Paris), and vintage selectors offering their talent – so you may actually get yourself a whole new look and who knows even a new karma by knitting the “Blue Tree”. For the the party crowd: the “Secret Voodoo Apero” will take place indoors from 19h.

Design-Markt in Berlin. Diesen Samstag gibt’s einmal mehr den Voodoo Market. Aber kein Grund zur Sorge: Anstelle schwarzer Magie werden Berliner Designer ihre handgemachten Arbeiten verkaufen und zwei Tattookünstler, ein Hairstylist (Poppy Pantone aus Paris) sowie zwei Vintage-Pros ihre Dienstleistungen und Produkte offererieren. Man kann sich also einen neuen Look und vielleicht auch ein wenig neues Karma zulegen – zum Beispiel beim gemeinsamen Stricken für den „Blue Tree“. Am Abend gibt’s dann im Chez Jacki auch noch einen „Secret Voodoo Apero“.

Hier ein paar Eindrücke des gestrigen Abends im Gretchen Club Berlin. Im Rahmen der „Hilfiger Denim Live Tour“r traten dort Acts wie of Montreal, Uffie, Trotze & Teute auftraten und auflegten.
Save the Date – “Kids of America” is coming to town! The current ad campaign for Fall/Winter of Hilfiger Denim is called “Kids of America” starring lots of musicians and features also concert series called “Hilfiger Denim Live”. The tour across Europe started in Milan and is coming to Berlin! The evening on Thursday at newly opened club Gretchen features international bands and musicians such as Of Monteral, Uffie or Radio Slave as well as local acts such as Fra Diavolo aka Totze & Teute (Beatsteaks) or Turmspringer. The event starts at 21.30h; check Facebook or tommy.com/kidsofamerica for more details. Tickets can be purchased at all three Mitte-based Berlin Hilfiger Denim Stores at Rosenthaler Str. 38,Potsdamer Platz Arkaden and Alexa Shopping Centre.
In case you can’t make it to Berlin – the tour’s last concert is taking place on October 27 in Madrid and The Rapture will be the concert’s headliner.

Diesem Donnerstag macht sie Stopp imkürzlich neu eröffneten Club Gretchen. Ab 21.30 Uhr treten dort internationale Acts wie Of Montreal oder Uffie sowie Local Heroes wie Fra Diavolo aka Totze & Teute (Beatsteaks) oder Turmspringer auf. Die Karten für das Event gibt es in allen drei Tommy Hilfiger Stores in Berlin-Mitte, in der Rosenthaler Straße 38, in den Potsdamer Platz Arkaden sowie im Store im Alexa Shopping Center.
